It's a comb-type thing that has a band across it...hard to explain but simple to use. Anyway try it if you have longish hair, it's a big help! P.S. I took this picture myself...took about 4 tries!
Anyway, what's new with you? I started working on a new quilt. I've been collecting 30s reproduction fabrics with the intention of making a 30s quilt. I just love the whimsical quality of the prints. I remember going to my Grandma and Pop-Pop's when I was a little girl and they had a real 30s quilt on one of the guest beds. I always enjoyed the cute little patterns.
I love Miss Rosie's patterns. They're so simple and I'm a big fan of stars.
So that's what I'm up to, sewing-wise! This weekend looks like it's going to be pretty busy...a birthday party, Home show, library, and OH! I forgot! It's maple festival weekend here in central New York. There's one maple farm in particular that we love for this. We go for a delicious all-you-can-eat breakfast, with eggs, ham, pancakes, etc. (of course with real maple syrup!) Then there's a wagon ride through the maple fields to see how the trees are tapped...and finally back to the sugar house to watch them turn the sap into syrup. The best part is the warm free samples. Yum! We always buy maple syrup and candy to bring home. Can't wait!
Randomly, here are a couple Easter bunnies we have on our hearth. They remind me of my little ones!
Enjoy your weekend!

Jen,
ReplyDeleteAre you my long lost sister? I have the same pattern and most of the fabrics in your pics! I love the Bandette.
Blessings,
Donna
I love your new blog background--it is soo springy--I also have to have my hair up in a scrunchy type thing --I love the pattern and what you are doing with it--and I also collect 30's fabrics and every so often out they come for a project!!!
ReplyDeletehave a great week end
Hugs, Di
Look at you with the photo of the hair. I wanna see the clip. When I grow my hair out I love putting it up too. It drives me nuts that's why I end up cutting it.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. Miss Rosie patterns are great. I cant wait to see the finished quilt. Ohh and real Maple Syrup......Be still my heart.
Love those 30s prints, Jen...they're so happy and whimsical!
ReplyDeleteI really really love 9 patch stars. They are one of my favorite blocks. I made a whole quilt with them once and a lady offered me a nice price for it and I sold it. I've often thought of it and missed it so I guess I should make another!
ReplyDeleteMy FIL will bring us real maple syrup when he visits his property in upstate New York sometimes. It is so good.
