Hey there! Are you staying cool? Here it's been miserable...I am not a summer person, I tend to wilt when it gets about 80 degrees. I braved the heat and took some photos of our flowers. Let's start in front of the house, shall we?
|
I have two of these pots, one on each side of the sitting wall. They're a bit past-peak here. |
|
Two of these as well, on either side of the front door. They've really filled out nicely! |
|
A variety of coleuses (colei?) |
Going around the side...
|
The two white hydrangeas are the "Annabelle" variety. Of course we had to plant those! They do really well on the north side of our house. The middle purple hydrangea was a gift from my mother-in-law a few years ago and he's happy as well. |
Now in the back...
|
I just thought this sunflower was funny...it sprang up from a dropped seed from the bird feeder. |
In the fairy garden...
|
This is one of three oak-leaf hydrangeas. The deer love these and eat them down to nubs in the winter. We tried protecting them with burlap but it was too late last fall. This year we'll start earlier, so hopefully we'll have blooms next year! |
That's as far as I got...I can't stay out for long, as you know! Anyway thanks for taking this little tour with me!

Your flowers are absolutely beautiful!!! I especially love your Hydrangeas! You certainly have a green thumb!
ReplyDeleteYou have a green thumb! Your flowers are gorgeous and I especially love the hydrangeas.
ReplyDeleteStay cool!

Love the flowers Jen. I can't stand this heat either. I've had to schlep water out to the veggie garden every day because it's so dry. Remember how we were all complaining about too much rain this spring? I want it back!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are absolutely beautiful! They obviously don't mind the heat!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the hydrangas. I never lived where they grew until last year in Rhode Island. I wonder if I can grow them here in WA? I want so badly to be outside planting, but my husband is insisting that's not my priority right now.. I must get the house in order from the move. :)
Thanks for the stroll around your gardens, Jen! I can enjoy flowers through others since I'm not home long enough to have one of my own. I never heard of an oak-leaf hydrangea before. I'm curious what the flower looks like! Good luck keeping the deer from eating it!

Pretty! Love the hydrangeas. My FAVORITE! I would take pictures of mine but I think the weeds will take center stage. ;)
ReplyDeleteStay cool!! It's going to be over 100 here by the end of the week. Not fun. I will be hibernating inside or in the pool.
ohhh what beautiful plants and flowers--you do have a green thumb don't you????
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how beautiful the flowers are this year with all the heat and no rain lately--guess it was the wet spring we had????
Hugs, Di and miss gracie
Your yard is so lovely. I really like that teacup quilt in your header, too.
